Spilled On Your Laptop?

Getting a protective case for your laptop can save you time and money. By keeping your treasured computer in a laptop backpack, you are keeping it away from food and liquid spills. But, even if you are keeping your laptop safe in a protective cover you may still have an accident when it’s out. If you do happen to spill anything on your laptop keyboard here’s what you should do to try to save it.
1. Act quickly. Shut down and unplug your computer and remove the battery.
2. Tip the laptop onto its side, then upside down in order to drain fluid out.
3. Quickly rinse out the keyboard with water and turn the laptop over to drain. Repeat this process several times. Try to use purified water if available.
4. Allow to dry completely. Wait several days to put the battery back in or to plug it in.
The average laptop owner purchases a laptop with the hope of being able to transport the computer wherever he/she goes. The portability is one of the biggest benefits of a laptop. But with travel comes dangers. Laptops are built sturdy, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t vulnerable when dropped, banged, or spilled on. And all of these contingencies are possible when you travel with your laptop.
